Education and Training

Dr. Chmieliauskaite completed her B.S in Biology at The Ohio State University before earning both her Master of Public Health and Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. She then completed advanced training in Oral Medicine at Penn Medicine Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she also served as Chief Resident.

Her training provided extensive experience in diagnosing and managing complex oral conditions, chronic facial pain, and complications related to systemic disease and cancer therapies.

Clinical Leadership and Academic Experience

Dr. Chmieliauskaite previously served as an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University and has been actively involved in clinical research and education. Her work has focused on burning mouth syndrome, temporomandibular disorders, and oral complications related to cancer therapy.

She later relocated to Seattle, where she serves as the Oral Medicine Residency Program Director at the University of Washington and an attending at UW Medical Center. Her academic and clinical background allows her to provide highly specialized care for patients with complex and challenging conditions.

Philosophy and Approach to Care

As an Oral Medicine Specialist, Dr. Chmieliauskaite is uniquely qualified to evaluate and treat conditions that affect the mouth, jaw, and facial region but may not have a clear dental cause. She focuses on careful diagnosis, conservative treatment, and collaboration with referring providers when needed.

Her goal is to provide answers and relief for patients experiencing persistent symptoms such as oral pain, unusual lesions, dry mouth, or complications related to medical treatments. By combining advanced knowledge with compassionate care, she helps patients feel supported throughout their treatment.

Life Outside the Office

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Chmieliauskaite grew up in the American Lithuanian community and spent her time participating in dance ensembles, camping, and volunteering at youth camps.

Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her spouse and two daughters, gardening, cross-country skiing, camping, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
